Gerolf Van de Perre

In 2024, Galerie Lloyd starts its program with a solo exhibition Gerolf Van de Perre (1965, Sint-Amandsberg, lives and works in Leuven). The public will see on display older and more recent works by the painter whose sources of inspiration are either literature (R.M. Rilke, Alain-Fournier) or the world in his proximity — passing silhouettes, reflected and juxtaposed portraits, interiors, landscapes. No matter the source of inspiration, his work shows a unique view over the reality that surrounds us, recomposing it in an ever-surprising and deeply poetic way. The narrative is sometimes present in his work, but it is nevertheless subdued to a lyrical ensemble where Gerolf's impeccable skills as a painter as well as his exceptional technique are the main voice.

In 2024 start Galerie Lloyd haar programma met een solotentoonstelling van Gerolf Van de Perre (geboren in 1965 te Sint-Amandsberg, woont en werkt in Leuven). Het publiek zal ouder en recenter werk te zien krijgen van de schilder wiens inspiratiebronnen ofwel literatuur zijn (R.M. Rilke, Alain-Fournier) ofwel de wereld in zijn nabijheid — voorbijgaande silhouetten, gereflecteerde en naast elkaar geplaatste portretten, interieurs, landschappen. Ongeacht de inspiratiebron toont zijn werk een unieke kijk op de realiteit die ons omringt en die hij opnieuw samenstelt op een steeds verrassende en diep poëtische manier. Het verhaal is soms aanwezig in zijn werk, maar het wordt niettemin getemperd tot een lyrisch geheel waarin Gerolfs onberispelijke vaardigheden als schilder alsook zijn uitzonderlijke techniek de hoofdrol spelen.
